Vocational Hair Salon
Many people within our communities have not had the opportunity to go to school. becuase of this we offer vocational training to such people to enable them to get the skills they need to find meaningful employment.

One of our projects is our hair salon. Hair is a big thing in Ghana with many villages having a hair salon.

Our aim is to provide on the job training for students where they can gain the necessary skills to eventually begin working in their own right. Part of the programme that we have established is to send one student each year to college in Accra where they can gain their Hardressing qualification which is recognised by the Hair dressers Association fo Ghana. Once students receive this award they are then qualified to open their own salon and begin working, or join a bigger salon as part of that team.

We currently have 5 women working at the salon on a rotational basis and are seeking to open the work of the salon to the community to enable this element of work to become a commercial outlet in the Camp 2 community.
