London to Paris Cycle Ride - Xavier Yau and Friends

Xavier and a number of his friends will be undetaking a cycle ride from London to Paris to raise funds for the UCC here in Ghana.

Xavier volunteered at the UCC in September 2012 and worked with our children at the school helping them to read and write. You can sponsor Xavier by using the online button below. We will update this page periodically with the names and amounts that people donate.

The UCC is a charity based in Ghana and supported financially by a registered charity in the UK. We work with children who can not afford to go to school. We teach them, get them to a good level then send them to state school. We have over 100 children attending our centre everyday in Accra, Ghana and 136 currently in schools in Accra forwhich we support the poorest with books and uniforms in partnership with the Akosua Foundation.

It is likley, due to the extreme poverty these children live in that they would never have an opportunity to get an education. Our work in Ghana which was started by Billa Mamud in 1998 ensures that these children have a start in life and gain an education which will last them a lifetime. Your money will help us continue this work.
